Emmaus Community opens its free MamaLilli’s Goodwill Cafe.

We’re excited to announce the opening of our free cafe providing a space of hearth and healing for our community members and others in need. MamaLilli’s Goodwill Cafe (named after one of our founders Lilli Archer) provides regular home cooked meals for our residents and others from outside our community in need. The vision for MamaLilli’s Cafe is “Healthy Body: Healthy Mind” and the goal is to inspire and encourage healthy eating and understanding of good nutrition.

Emmaus Community Hosts SecondBite and Coles.

We loved being able to host the celebration of the 10 year anniversary of the partnership between our good friends and supporters SecondBite and Coles. We’ve had over 47 tonnes of food (which equates to a whopping 95,369 meals) donated to us since 2018!

"The Examiner" features Emmaus Community.

Geraldine Alphonse wrote a great little story about the documentary and about Emmaus Community for our local paper, The Examiner just after our first broadcast screening earlier this year in April.

A Place to Call Home on ABC this November.

The documentary about Emmaus Community that was produced by Think Films – “A Place to Call Home” – will broadcast again on November 22nd at 11 am on Compass. Following this, it will be available for streaming for 30 days on ABC iView. As the film’s logline so aptly announces “in our world of ever-increasing isolation, Emmaus Community is a timely reminder of how communities can change lives.”  We’d love it if you can share this news with your family and friends so they can be inspired by this heartfelt documentary.
