MamaLilli's Goodwill Café

At the end of 2021, we opened MamaLilli’s Goodwill café. The free café provides a space of hearth and healing for our community members and others in need.

MamaLilli’s Goodwill Café is a free café providing regular home cooked meals inspiring healthy eating, understanding of nutrition and a relaxing space to enjoy the company of friends and shared meals.

It’s a space where we gather regularly together and also host various events like the recent celebration of the 10th anniversary of our partners Coles and SecondBite.

MamaLilli’s is named after Lily Archer – co-founder of Emmaus Community and mum to Br Al. Lily was the matriarch of Emmaus and loved the community members as family. Lily passed away at Emmaus Community on Good Friday 25th March, 2016 and she continues to be loved and missed by all.

The vision for MamaLilli’s Cafe is “Healthy Body: Healthy Mind” and the goal is to inspire and encourage healthy eating and understanding of good nutrition.

We’ve also been running “good eating” workshops with James – our community chef where our community residents learn and practice the basic principles of cooking to eat well.
